- What personal information does Zipkick collect?
Zipkick collects relevant information from you that helps us provide the Service or that you voluntarily provide to us to improve your experience with the Service. Here are some of the types of personal information Zipkick requests or collects or that you otherwise provide via the Service:
(a) Name and contact information: Zipkick collects your name, email address, and other basic information about you when you register for a Zipkick account or sign-in to the Service using your Facebook or Twitter account. We may ask for similar information at other times, such as when you enter any contests or promotions sponsored by Zipkick or Zipkick partners.
(b) Social media information: If you sign-in to the Service using your Facebook or Twitter account, we will also collect other information from those social media accounts with your permission, such as your profile data, email address, and list of friends.
(b) Your personal interests and other profile information: If you are logged into your Zipkick account, you may voluntarily provide us with information about you such as photos, a member bio, your social media handles, your geo-location, and influencers that you have shown interest in. The amount and type of personal information you share in this way is entirely up to you. You can edit or control what you allow others to see about you and your activity on the Service in your Account page.
(c) Your discussions, shared information, opinions and comments: If you participate in discussions, share information, or post opinions or comments through the Service, Zipkick will retain that information. You should be aware that any information you provide through the Service may be read, collected, and used by Zipkick or other Users who access them.
(d) No information from minors: The Service is not intended for use by minors, and Zipkick does not knowingly seek or collect any personal information from minors. If you are a minor attempting to use the Service, we ask that you not submit any personal information. If we become aware that a minor is using the Service or submitting Personal Information, we will notify the minor that they are prohibited from submitting personal information on the Service and make commercially reasonable efforts to delete the minor’s personal information. If you are the parent or guardian of a minor who has submitted personal information to Zipkick, please contact us and we will make efforts to delete such information.
- How does Zipkick use your personal information?
Here are some examples of how Zipkick uses your personal information:
(a) To provide the Service: We primarily use your personal information to provide the Service, such as sharing with you relevant information and recommendations, content that you have requested, and information that we may think you will be interested in.
(b) For internal purposes: We may use your personal information, alone or aggregated with other Users’ personal information, for internal purposes, such as data analysis, carrying out internal research on how the Service is used, improving the Service, developing new products and services, and identifying usage trends.
(c) To communicate with you: Zipkick may use your email address or other contact information to communicate with you about your use of the Service, improvements or changes to the Service, any information or alerts you may have requested through the Service, or any Zipkick-related products and services.
(e) To share offers and ads with you: Your personal information may be used to promote offers from Zipkick partners or other third parties trusted by Zipkick, either through direct communications with you or through the Service itself. We will not provide advertisers with access to your individual account information. Zipkick will not sell the personal information you provide us to these advertisers unless you have given us your consent to do so. We may also use information aggregated information, anonymized data, or the placement of cookies to facilitate personalized or targeted ads we provide to you. If you do not want to continue to receive promotional emails, you may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe function included in any promotional email you receive.
- Will Zipkick share your personal information with third parties?
Zipkick will only disclose your personal information to third parties in these limited circumstances:
(a) Third party service providers: Subject to strict confidentiality or data protection agreements, Zipkick may sometimes uses third parties to perform various tasks for us including data storage and analysis, transactions processing, customer service, and serving of advertisements. These third parties are only given access to the information needed to perform their support functions and are prohibited from using it for other purposes. However, if you click on a link from the Service to visit the site of any third party, you may be asked for personal information in order to purchase or use products and services offered. These companies have their own privacy and data collection practices. We have no responsibility or liability for these independent policies. You should therefore review their privacy notices carefully if you have concerns about how your information may be used by these third parties.
(b) Zipkick partners: Zipkick may sometimes share your information in an aggregated form with business partners with whom we may jointly offer products or services, or whose products or services may be offered on the Service.
(c) At your request: Through the Service, you may share certain information with third parties through the app, email or social media. If you request to share your information in this way, we will accommodate your request and share your information accordingly.
- Do you have to provide personal information?
You may access the Service as a “Guest” without providing any personal information to Zipkick. However, to request in-app push notifications, communicate with other users, or fully take advantage of the capabilities of the Service, Users will be required to create a Zipkick account by providing your name and email address or by connecting with a social media account. The amount of other personal information you decide to submit to Zipkick is up to you but understand that your experience on, and the value of, the Service may be diminished if you choose to provide no additional information.
- Does Zipkick collect and use mobile data and other non-personal information?
(a) Mobile data: When you access Zipkick from a mobile device, we may collect non-personal information, such as how often you use the Service from your device, the way you use the mobile application, and application performance data. We use this data to help us to better understand our Users and improve the functionality of our mobile application on your mobile device. We will also occasionally send you push notifications to provide you information about us or the Service. You may opt-out of these notifications at the device level.
(b) Non-Personal Information: When you use the Service, Zipkick may automatically collect non-personal information about you, such as your IP address, the website from which you have come to the Service, your Media Access Control address, your device type, screen resolution, operating system, version, and internet browser. In addition, Zipkick may also collect other information about you that, when aggregated with the information relating to other Users, cannot and does not personally identify you or any other User, e.g. aggregated geographic data that allows Zipkick to understand the demographics of its user base. Because non-personal information does not personally identify you, Zipkick may use such non-personal information for any purpose, including sharing such non-personal information with third parties.
(c) Social Media: The Service also allows you to take advantage of various social media providers, by connecting to your accounts from Facebook and Twitter. These networks, when accessed through the Service, may collect your personal and non-personal information, including your respective login information, IP address, or information about where you clicked from, and may set a cookie to allow the widgets to operate properly. These social media providers and their respective widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly through the Service. Such data collection and use is subject to those social media providers’ policies, and you should review their respective privacy policies and terms and conditions to understand how they use your data. If you use these social media providers, Zipkick may access any information you submit to those providers (voluntarily or automatically), including information about your use of any apps or other services that we run with those providers.
- How do you delete your information?
Zipkick employs security measures to protect its Users’ personal information, and protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of User data under our control. Zipkick’s security and privacy practices will be reviewed regularly and enhanced as necessary to protect your information and privacy. Zipkick cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur, but Zipkick will use commercially reasonable efforts to prevent this. It is also important for you to guard against unauthorized access to your passwords and the unauthorized use of your computer or mobile device, and you must notify us by email at email@example.com of any known or suspected unauthorized use of your account, or any known or suspected breach of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure of your password or billing information.
Please note that the Service is run from the United States, and all information submitted on the Service is stored, processed, and/or transferred in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S. and choose to provide your personal information, you agree and acknowledge that your information is stored, processed, and/or transferred in the U.S., which may have less stringent data protection, privacy, or security protections than in your jurisdiction. Subject to the applicable laws in such other jurisdictions, we will provide appropriate safeguards to maintain protections on your personal information.
Zipkick may occasionally run sweepstakes, contests, raffles, or other promotions (collectively “Promotions”) via email or through the Service, in which we ask Users for personal information (like an email address or name) or demographic information (like a zip code, age, or income level). We use this data to send users promotional material about Zipkick, our partners, or other third parties. Participation in such Promotions is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The use of any information collected under such Promotions is subject to any terms and conditions specified by the respective Promotions. You may opt out of future emails relating to Promotions at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in each promotional email, or you may simply decline to take part in the Promotions.
- Modifications to this Policy
Zipkick has the right, at its sole discretion, to modify this Policy at any time. Changes will be posted through the Service. We may also, at our sole discretion, notify you of any changes to the Policy by email. If you do not consent to any changes to the Policy and would therefore not like us to use, store, or process any of your information under the revised Policy, your sole remedy is to delete your information and/or your account. Your continued use of the Service after posted notices of changes to this Policy means that you have accepted and are bound by the changes.
